Under the direction of the Philanthropy Vice President and Director of Major and Planned Gifts, the Major Gifts Development and Stewardship Coordinator is responsible for supporting the major gifts program to meet the fundraising goals of the Foundation. The primary focus of this position will be on the solicitation of individual donors for contributions of $1,000+, and fostering external contacts with local and national corporate and foundation partners and individual prospects. The Major Gifts Development Coordinator will manage a major gift donor portfolio and be responsible for cultivating and growing a donor base, with a view to serving the needs of each donor. The Coordinator will research and identify new major donor prospects on an ongoing basis. In addition, the Coordinator will work with board members, medical and development staff to identify strategies to successfully secure gifts of $1,000+. Ensures appropriate acknowledgement and recognition of all major gifts and contributions. This position will represent the Hospital and Foundation in the community by participating in appropriate civic organizations, social events, hospital functions, etc. Conducts tours of Children's Hospital for donors and prospects.
Requirements
Requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience in fundraising, sales or marketing experience with a Bachelor's degree. Knowledge of Raisers Edge and major gift fundraising strategies preferred. Community relations experience desirable. Must possess ability to work in a team situation, with little supervision, under tight deadlines and pressure to coordinate a variety of projects simultaneously. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills required. Strong desktop publishing preferred. Strong organizational skills. Must demonstrate behaviors consistent with those identified as Children's core value behaviors. Affinity with the overall mission of Children's.
